Technologically Advanced

The easier it gets
to reach the tip of mount Everest
in the heated, pressurized capsule
of a sleek flying machine
with a fancy dashboard,
full of flickering buttons
and a small tv screen
built with led technology
that shows you real time your wife, your kids, your mother, your dog
and then say “God, I love my life!”
the less interesting place
planet Earth is,
just a flat cosmic object
in a flat universe,
surrounded by flat stars,
devoid of any challenges,
cleaned up of unknown beasts,
with all its boundaries charted to perfection,
all jungles accounted for,
all crevices cordoned with yellow tape,
or filled with styrofoam,
one left only with virtual adventures
on 3D screens
where nobody really dies
and nobody really lives

And all this
because we are getting
too damn technologically advanced
